Hyperbole Is My Middle Name!

I am a comedian, improviser and writer living in NYC. However this tumblr is mostly about things I am angry or excited about, and weird things I find on the internet.

And Morrissey and David Gray.

I Spy Famous Hands! The adorable Ryan Serhant is currently one of the top real estate agents in New York City and can be seen on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing: New York. Anyone that has ever watched the show has surely heard him talk about his amazing days as a hand model, and now we have proof! Ryan’s hands provided AT&T with the perfect canvas for one of their Blackberry campaigns.

I acted in ‘Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead’ with him in college. WEIRD! I think he was Guildenstern but can’t remember.
Maybe he can find me a studio in Chelsea for under $1,500 a month! (He can’t.)

We hope most people already know this one (or maybe we’re just nerds) but in case you were unaware, Chris Hemsworth (Thor/The Avengers, The Cabin in the Woods) played George Kirk, Jim’s father, who was captain of a starship for 12 minutes and saved 800 lives (“I dare you to do better”) in the tearjerking opening scene of the 2009 Star Trek reboot.

Thanks, gohugabadger!

Because I am very annoying, I yell out to Kirk that he seems to have lost his hammer, and that the bad guy from Iron Man is RIGHT BEHIND HIM (Faran Tahir plays the USS Kelvin’s first doomed Captain Robau, and Raza in Iron Man) during the beginning of Star Trek, and I heckle Thor about growing his hair out against Star Fleet regulations when watching these respective films.

What I’m saying is no one should have to watch movies with me.

Audrey Hepburn’s nose gives me hope that my nose doesn’t make me a horrible freak.

SPOILER WARNING.

As amazing as it would be to see The Doctor show up on Downton Abbey, it would not be the first time Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) and the good Doctor have crossed paths. Bonneville played pirate captain Henry Avery in two Doctor Who episodes, “The Curse of the Black Spot” and “A Good Man Goes to War”. He was not the first Downton cast member to work with the Doctor, however (and we assume he probably won’t be the last either). Penelope Wilton, known to Downton Abbey fans as Cousin Isobel Crawley, was none other than Prime Minister Harriet Jones, who sacrificed her life to save Earth during one of David Tennant’s last Doctor Who episodes, “The Stolen Earth”.

John C. McGinley, best known as Dr. Perry Cox on Scrubs, was in the 1986 movie Sweet Liberty.

Bonus Famous Faces: M*A*S*H star Alan Alda can be spotted in the back and Saul Rubinek (Warehouse 13) is in the foreground on the right.

A lot of amazing finds, impeccablyshaved!

TRIPLE BONUS: The third guy in uniform is Dann Florek, Captain Donald Cragen from Law & Order SVU (and Law & Order Original Recipe for the first 3 series).

The stage is my church and long form improvisational comedy is my religion and I want to practice it at every moment in my life. When I have felt most myself and most alive is when I have been living this way. Now, rock out with your cocks out.
Amy Poehler.
Is that woman Jessica, Sam’s demon-murdered girlfriend Jess!? Double ‘I Spy A Famous Face’ all the way across the dashboard?!
P.S. It is, I looked it up. King of the Lab!

Zach Roerig is the adorable Matt Donovan in The Vampire Diaries now but just a few years ago he was an all-American cowboy, Cash, on Friday Night Lights.
Great find, troublewithreality!

When I saw this hilarious and wonderful bit last night, I said “I bet this was Amy Poehler’s idea.” And the LA Times blog confirms that it was. I fucking love that she thought of this and got everyone else on board. The media is constantly trying to sell us on the idea that WOMEN HATE EACH OTHER. We are jealous of how pretty other women are, we want what other women have, we are all like two seconds away from tearing each other’s weaves out at ALL TIMES because we are competitive and hateful and crazy. And while that is true 100% of the time for real housewives of major metropolitan areas, my own experience tells me it’s really not the case for regular, non-reality-star ladies. And so anyway, rather than squawking on her tumblebloggerpage about unfair characterization by the media for the last 1000 years, Amy actually did something to SHOW that women can have fun with each other and cooperate and risk looking silly together and be happy for each other when one of them wins something. I love that she walks the walk, that she shows instead of tells. She is a HERO (to borrow an Alison phrase) and an inspiration and it makes me proud to be affiliated with the UCB.

Love, love, love.

LIFE magazine seems to have the words ‘Terrifying’ confused with ‘Lookin’ Good’ and ‘montster claws’ for ‘new slender frame’.

T.J. Thyne may be known for playing Dr. Jack Hodgins on Bones now.  But did you know he also made an appearance on Kenan & Kel in 1999 as the hysterical man trapped with the freezer of a restaurant with the boys?

Hodgins was kidnapped by the Gravedigger twice?!?!

life:

On the night of August 25th, 2001, Aaliyah, just 22 years old and at height of her fame, boards a Cessna 402B in the Bahamas, where the recording actress and budding film star had just finished shooting a video for her latest single, “Rock the Boat.” Despite warnings from the ground crew and even the pilot, she and her retinue of eight others take off for the States in a plane too light to carry all of their quipment. It crashes just 200 feet beyond the runway’s end, killing everyone on board.

10 years later her legacy still lives onDeadly Plane Crashes: Stars We Lost in the Sky

Did you guys catch Amir on Louie last night?

Interestingly, he seemed to be playing a subdued version of his CH character. CK continues to blur the lines of fiction and perceived reality by casting an up-and-comer in the role of an up-and-comer.

Also making appearances: the awesomely disgruntled Joe DeRosa, the People’s Improv Theater’s Ali Farahnakian and hello, Miles from Murphy Brown.

Attention Morgan Evans.
