Hyperbole Is My Middle Name!

I am a comedian, improviser and writer living in NYC. However this tumblr is mostly about things I am angry or excited about, and weird things I find on the internet.

And Morrissey and David Gray.

Email me if you want me to make your flyer, too. Note: I will charge you money.

other UCB cards I have tumblr’d:

Hire Dyna Moe, people! I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way the poster and post card came out for The Fascinator (next show February 11 7 pm, UCB East Village!)

This is a picture of Reuben Williams I found on my old blogspot blog, from an entry in early 2007. Katey thinks this is from their epic 2007 Cage Match run. I don’t even know where this came from. Maybe Flickr? If you have gchatted with me today, you’ve been on the receiving end of some nostalgia. Because believe it or not, a lot has changed in 5 years.

My guess is that this was a scene on a general store porch in the south and Joe’s character was trying to convince the rest of the old men that the new birds flocking to the town would be good for business.

The stage is my church and long form improvisational comedy is my religion and I want to practice it at every moment in my life. When I have felt most myself and most alive is when I have been living this way. Now, rock out with your cocks out.

Matt Little and I have dreamed of hosting a comic book variety show for like, seriously, two years. Now, it’s happening!

MATT & BRETT LOVE COMICS

Saturday, October 15th, Matt and I are hosting a variety show at the UCB Theatre to celebrate Comic Con and comic book culture. This is gonna be a blast. We’ve got comedy bits from some amazing UCB people (more on that later), but we also have two actual PEOPLE WHO WRITE COMICS doing the show! What?! Yeah! We’re going to interact with the people whose work we read! Writers Greg Pak (Incredible Hulk, Alpha Flight, upcoming Astonishing X-Men) and Fred Van Lente (Herc, Amazing Spider-Man, Alpha Flight) will be two of our guests. Yes!

Make reservations and keep an eye out for more guest news. Next week’s gonna be crazy!

YES!

UCB-LA | Cancer Can Blow Me | 09.29.11

I am backlogged on photos, and won’t be able to get to this show until I finish last Saturday’s One Two Punch photos, but in the meantime, here is my shot of the night.

God bless Nick Kroll’s photobomb.

Holy shit.

God fucking damn it LA.

YEAAAAAAAAAH!!

(via garlock)

I just wanted to say thanks for everything this year. It’s been really amazing and fun and scary all at the same time. The fact is I’ve always been scared to do a lot of the things I do, and I actually am scared when I’m doing most of the things you guys pay good money to see me do. But I think…

Reblogged for truth.

Everyone at UCB (okay, fine NYC) has a little bit of a crush on Donald, right?  And now we have to share him with the rest of the world.  Aw nuts!

I have my very own Spank (audition show) at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre tomorrow, December 3rd, at 6 pm!  My show “Oh, Really?” is a panel quiz show featuring a panel of 4 hilarious comedian or improviser-types, japing and jocularizing while attempting to answer my fiendishly hard questions about tomorrow’s topic, New York City!

My phenomenal guests tomorrow are Matt Little, Neil Casey, Becky Drysdale and Tim Dunn! I promise you’ll learn some crazy, fucked up and above all true facts about this lovely city in which we reside. I shall be quizzing my guests on their knowledge, be mocking them for obvious and wrong answers, and rewarding them for funny or interesting knowledge. I think it’s going to be really fun, so I hope you can come out and agree with me!

My show is first, so make sure you get to the UCB Theatre right at 6 pm to ensure you don’t miss vital facts!  There are two show after me, I believe both are sketch shows, so you should stick around if you can!

Make a reservation here.

Don’t make me choose between the city I love and the woman I care about.
Kevin Hines, to Erik Tanouye, at one of the early (first?) Scam shows.
