So you’re at a party. And it’s an awesome party. Great music, cool snacks, and it’s not too stuffy because the windows are open and there’s a nice cross breeze. Plus the guests? Killer. Everyone’s funny and cool and has a really neat career and you just want to be pals with all of them. And they’re all having a hell of a time. They love everybody in the room. Except for you.
No one’s being rude or mean. It’s like they just don’t see you. Every time you try to introduce yourself to someone, he sees someone across the room he needs to say hello to. Every time you try to join a group of people shooting the shit, the circle manages to close with you on the outside. The next day there are a million photos on facebook and none of them include you.
Anyway, that’s kind of what it’s like usually, going to the movies while female.
Basically, I want to scream ‘It’s 2011! ACHG WHY IS THIS STILL HAPPENING!??!?!’
Ditto and worse for roles for POC, LGBTQA, or roles for women in action or horror films that just have them kicking all the ass all the time instead of being scared and crying and shit.
Basically, I need ‘Graceling’ and all the Tiffany Aching books made into movies ASAP.

And please make sure the cast is 13% black. Please? For me?...actually don’t
